Abstract
This paper describes the development of a polyurethane structural foam formulation for making automotive door liners. The system is a two-component one, and yields a specific gravity of 0.3 g/cm3. The liners are pro duced by a one-step process in which a PVC foam is stretched over the mold. Non-automotive applications are also possible, for instance, cover panels for bathroom scales, decorative panels for room dividers, and headboards for beds.
