Abstract
The thermal parameters such as, glass transition temperature (Tg), crystalline melting point (Tm), initial thermal degradation temperature (Td,0), and coefficient of thermal expansion (Eg) of some halogenated polymers have been estimated employing two different relations such as the Van Krevelen method and the Askadskii method based on the group additive principle. The estimated parameters were compared with the experimental values. The estimated thermal parameters by the Van Krevelen method are found to be more accurate, rapid, and simple than the Askadskii method, except for a crystalline melting point.
