Abstract
Quality assurance and quality control are progressing toward total quality management. Regardless of the quality of the strategy, its success is dependent upon thepeople who will have to implement it. This warrants awareness of and the use of adequate management tools at all levels. Quality cannot be imposed or commanded. All involved must be aware of the factors influencing quality and how to manage these challenges. Taking a look at some theories of management, it becomes obvious that motivation and delegation play a prime role in modern management.
