Chiral probes may provide crucial information on many aspects of drug action. Enantioselective and eudismic analyses are two methods that use enantiomeric pairs to study drug-receptor interactions. They are particularly useful in characterizing binding sites and receptor subtypes. The principles of the approaches and their uses are briefly examined. A few examples illustrating the possible results are discussed.
