As multi-country clinical trials using quality of life as one of the endpoints become more common, it is crucial to consider the culture of each country in designing questionnaires that will achieve meaningful results. When adapting questionnaires from one country to others, quality of life must take into account the culture of the other countries. Translation must pay heed to linguistic, conceptual, and technical issues.
