Abstract
This paper discusses validation of high integrity systems. It stresses the importance of: knowing what and why validation is to be performed, and defining and using a quality baseline in systems requiring validation. The paper then discusses some common techniques of validation, linking them with various stages of the development life cycle and with a variety of automated methods.
