Abstract
Twenty-six countries are currently participating in the WHO International Monitoring Program for Adverse Drug Reactions. The data base contains about 370,000 case reports from national centres. Output documents comprise reports on fatalities, fetal malformations, neoplasms, dependence, associations not previously reported, follow-up reports on selected associations, and drug profiles at request. The data base is accessible on line. An ADR newsletter reviewing ADR problems and results of special searches is produced. For the coming years, improvement of the signalling of serious reactions and speeding up of the reporting process are priorities.
