Abstract
In recent years, we have seen the advent of a number of new technologies—the Internet, high-speed lines, wireless networks, implanted monitoring devices, and so forth—that hold the potential for revolutionizing clinical development processes. The unanswered question is how we integrate those technologies most effectively to speed processes, improve accuracy, increase communication, and eliminate data silos. The integration necessary to make optimal use of these technologies remains unavailable. This paper discusses the issues involved in providing such integration and an approach to providing a fully integrated clinical development environment that we believe will become increasingly common in the coming years.
