Abstract
This paper presents a discussion on the effective operation of the geometric cause of fiber migration in staple yarns. The experimental investigation is extended to some of the roving and drafting operation variables which had not been studied earlier. It is shown that the roving twist and drafting ratio have a significant effect on the rate of fiber migration. The influence of drafting tenacity was found to be negligible. Statis tical analysis shows that over 90% of the resolved effects are controlled by the mean fiber position.
