Abstract
Religious music is one of the most interesting elements of Buddhist culture, which clearly reflects the traces of previous cultural interactions, trends, and points of disagreement. This study aims to analyze the current trends in modern Buddhist choral music in China, focusing on recent sociopolitical changes that have occurred in this country. According to the results, the Chinese Buddhist community still demonstrates polarized opinions about borrowing foreign elements in Buddhist music. The study provides valuable material for further analysis of religious and cultural development in Chinese society. The findings can serve as a basis for identifying potential conflict points and finding solutions to them, as well as promoting interethnic and intercultural dialogue.
