The operations of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department preventive maintenance facility are analyzed. Several preventive maintenance policies for a fleet of vehicles are developed in an effort to improve both the effectiveness and efficiency of facility operations. The preventive maintenance policies are simulated using GPSS models and then evaluated. The most appropriate policy is selected for implementation.
