Modeling and simulation in the operational test and evaluation process

Abstract

The continuous use of modeling and simulation (M/S) throughout the operational test and evaluation (OT&E) process is presented as a means to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of OT&E. The utility of using M/S from understanding the problem at the beginning of a test program to maximizing the utility of test information after the test is discussed along with some problem areas and potential solutions.
