Abstract
This article presents findings from a process evaluation of the Pennsylvania Prison Society's Building Connection reentry workshops for incarcerated men nearing parole. Using interviews with formerly incarcerated program participants, surveys of currently incarcerated participants, observations of program workshops, and program documents, the study highlights key features that support participants’ emotional and practical preparation for reentry, including relatable facilitators, real-world scenarios, and a safe group setting. The program fosters communication skills, emotional support, and awareness of community resources. Implications for program expansion or replication are also discussed.
