The question whether grammatical function is greatly disturbed by schizophrenia was examined by means of the coefficient of constraint, based upon information theory. It was found that differences between Dutch- and French-speaking patients were greater than between schizophrenics and normals. Examination of Rorschach protocols indicates that the specific affection caused by schizophrenia is a defective perceptive feedback.
