Florida's extensive testing program ap pears to be counterproductive to in creasing the number of minority teach ers. The high school diploma test, the ACT/SAT, university and teacher educa tion admission score requirements, the "rising junior" test, and teacher certifica tion examinations represent serious ob stacles to minority students who aspire to a career in teaching.
