Two concepts have emerged in the teacher education reform literature that if combined could revolutionize how we think about teaching and the prepara tion of teachers: Warranties for teachers and teacher productivity. Some of the subtleties and complexities ofthese con cepts are explored by Schalock, and their potential impact on teacher educa tion is discussed.
