Abstract
Public school representatives, students, and faculty at the Florence, Alabama, State Teachers College joined in the search for common ground on which needed competencies of the successful teacher could not only be identified, but actually developed in the preservice pro gram of teacher education; Mr. Jaggers, Head of the Department of Education and Psychology, reports the results of a two- year cooperative study.
