Abstract
Mr. Tanruther is Director of Elemen tary Laboratory Experiences, Indiana State Teachers College, Terre Haute. For the content of this article he has drawn upon an extensive experience as a director of student teaching, as a teacher of pro fessional courses, as an employing official in the public schools, and as participant and leader in numerous conferences and workshops dealing with the clinical aspects of teacher education.
