Abstract
Recent legislation has prompted the establishment of a burgeoning number of educational units for behavior disordered children. As these units became available throughout the United States, much disagreement resulted among educators regarding suitable eligibility criteria. The acting-out BD child is discussed in the article, with a focus on eligibility criteria and classification. In addition, characteristics of the aggressive child are suggested along with several factors tied in with the BD child. In particular, biological, familial, cognitive, and social learning factors related to aggression are discussed.
