Nonverbal social perception in learning disabled adolescents was investigated using standardized tests of social intelligence and nonverbal communication. It was found that LD adolescents in both grades 8 and 9 were significantly lower in nonverbal social perception skill than control students. In LD adolescents, the Cartoon Predictions subtest of the Four Factor Tests of Social Intelligence appeared to be the paper-and-pencil measure that would be the most useful as a quick index of this skill level.
