Abstract
"Temperament" means the individual patterns of behavioral style of the child i.e., develop-mental traits somewhat different from intelli-gence, language, perceptual ability, and related "cognitive" capacities and functions. Tempera-ment differences among children are often totally attributed to faulty child rearing, neg-lect, emotional turmoil, or other environmental or cultural influences. This essay is presented to encourage consideration of some biological, innate contributions to temperament qualities and traits.
