Abstract
Parents and professionals are being inundated with a hodgepodge of new "how to" books. Perhaps it would be better to call them "what we are doing wrong and how to feel guilty about it". Because of her syndicated newspaper column, Dr. Ames reads nearly every book published in the fields of education, psychology, optometry, guidance and so on. In this special report she gives some very succinct views on this maze of literature with which we are being deluged.—C.C.E.
