A major learning disability is a failure or breakdown in the process of audition. An auditory language quantum is reported to provide a basis for assessment of an auditory learning disability. A seven point scale of sensitivity, discrimination, perception, processing, pattern making, retention and conceptualization is presented as the measuring instrument.
