Spontaneous pneumothorax has been observed in patients with abnormal levels of alphaj-antitrypsin. We report the case of a young woman with a low level of alpha, -antitrypsin who presented with recurrent episodes of spontaneous pneumothorax and who required pleuroscopy, apical lung resection, and pleurodesis.
