Abstract
SEMINARS in Kent attracted 1200 people. Eight hun dred and sixty four, responding to a questionnaire, gave reasons why they had attended. Two-thirds of the audience were female, and one-third were under 35 years of age. Prevention of drug misuse and how to help were considered important topics by the older age groups, but the younger members of the audi ence were more interested in drugs available, their appearance and effect on people. Only a minority in each age group gave helping a person with a drug misuse problem as a reason for attending the seminar.
