The primary objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between socio-economic status (SES) and knowledge about AIDS among young adults in India. In the event that a knowledge gap existed, the study also sought to explore whether involvement variables such as cognitive involvement and information-seeking behaviour of respondents (relating to AIDS information) were able to bridge the knowledge gap between people of high and low socioeconomic status.
