The main issue of this article is which role the Indonesian press played in the image- building of The Netherlands in the period between November 1991 and December 1992. In answering this question this research shall dwell on the Indonesian press system under "New Order" government, give an overview of the images of The Netherlands that were found in the analysis of the Indonesian national press, and it will explain whose interests are served by the dissemination of these images.
