A multitude of variables and approaches are needed in order to conduct comprehensive programs of research, evaluation, and assistance for exceptional children. A model for such efforts is presented and practical strategies for evaluating and assisting exceptional children are suggested, including a hypothetical deductive method of evaluation in which age specific screening tasks and a teaching approach which is based upon behavioral analysis are utilized.
