Multidimensional scaling configurations were obtained for the same set of 11 stimuli (commercial office foyers) using data from two different judgmental tasks completed by the same group of subjects. The degree of fit between the two configurations suggests that similarity judgments analysed by multidimensional scaling methods provide useful information about the way in which subjects perceive their environment.
