C. P. WOLF has been working for the past two years in the area of social impact assessment. He is Chair of the American Sociological Association's Ad Hoc Committee on Environmental Sociology, whose charge is to recommend guidelines for the use of social research in environmental impact statement preparation, and editor of Social Impact Assessment (Milwaukee: Environmental Design Research Association, 1974) and Environmental Sociology. At the time of editing this special issue he was Sociologist with the Institute for Water Resources, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He is now an AAAS Congressional Science Fellow in the Office of Technology Assessment.
