This study reports the results of a statewide teacher stress survey conducted with 137 teachers of mentally retarded students and 228 teachers of nonretarded handicapped students (N = 365). Dependent variable ratings for the degree of intensity (How strong?) and the degree of frequency (How often?) of 25 sources, 24 emotional and behavioral manifestations, and 16 physiological manifestations of teacher stress were gathered from each of the respondents.
