Although recent research has shown that staff members from institutions display conservative attitudes toward sexual behavior of retarded residents, it has failed to show a comparison of attitudes toward behavior of both retarded and nonretarded persons. Staff members from institutions and community-based programs and college students (a control group) were surveyed about their attitudes about sexual behavior of retarded and nonretarded persons. Significant differences among the three groups were found.
