Abstract
In this paper the writer gives a brief resumé of the present situation in Canada with respect to educational planning and preventive research in mental retardation. Financial assistance to provincial programs for the trainable and educable retarded is outlined. The writer concludes that definite progress has been made in Canada towards providing for the mentally retarded, but sees a need for greater coordination among the various agencies and governmental levels.
