Abstract
The National Commission on Community Health Services, a private corporation sponsored jointly by the American Public Health Associa tion and the National Health Council, carried out a four-year nation wide study of community health needs, resources, and practices, with the aid of six task-force explorations in 21 communities across the na tion. Government grants and contributions from foundations and busi ness firms subsidized the study.
