Has the advent of antibiotics had any appre ciable effect on the incidence of acute bacterial arthritis? What is the source of the organisms? Should glacial acetic acid be used for the white cell counts of aspirated joint fluid? In compar ing the joint fluid sugar to a simultaneously drawn blood sugar, must the patient be fasting? How long should antibiotic therapy be contin ued in a child with septic arthritis?
