Abstract
Advances in shoulder surgery have seen reverse total shoulder replacement (TSR) become a valuable treatment option for managing the patient with a complex degenerative shoulder. Rehabilitation guidelines for such patients are limited at present. At our institution, the reverse TSR has been used since 2000. In the last few years, the evidence base and understanding of these particular prostheses has grown. This review outlines our rehabilitation guidelines, which have been developed to manage patients who have undergone reverse TSR. It is hoped that the review will stimulate further thought and interest in the area of shoulder rehabilitation following reverse TSR.
