This is an invited contribution summarizing selected highlights from the “Year in Thyroidology—Basic Science” lecture presented at the 2021 ATA annual meeting.
Two seminal and well-executed publications will be briefly discussed. These studies have approached the biology of anaplastic thyroid cancer from different angles, yielding critical insights into ATC genetics, biology, and novel therapeutic opportunities.
