Abstract
Dr. Jay Short has demonstrated notable success in the biotechnology industry, rising quickly through the ranks from staff scientist to vice-president and president/ founder of several leading biotech companies. Most recently, Short founded the nonprofit E.O. Wilson Biodiversity Foundation and commercial entities Capia IP, offering services from patent strategy to licensing to contract negotiations, and BioAtla, a global protein evolution and engineering company. Here, he discusses some of his current work and offers perspective on meaningful success in the bioscience industry.
