Abstract
Introduction:
The minimal incision deep elevation (MIDE) facelift/necklift approach was developed to focus on tightening the jawline and addressing neck laxity. This approach utilizes discreet periauricular and submental incisions. It is most appropriate for patients who are younger (around age 50 or younger), patients who do not require midface lifting, and patients with a history of hypertrophic or keloid scarring that would benefit from a minimal incision approach.
Materials and Methods:
This video shows a 66-year-old female patient with a chief complaint of jowling and neck laxity. Given her jawline and neck laxity complaints and propensity to develop hypertrophic scars, we opted for a minimal incision deep elevation approach to minimize her scars and address her primary areas of concern.
Results:
The video submission illustrates the steps of the minimal incision deep elevation facelift and necklift and demonstrates its feasibility.
Conclusions:
The MIDE facelift/necklift is a successful treatment option for patients with complaints of mainly jawline and neck laxity and/or a history of suboptimal scarring.
The patient signed informed consent for the use of her photo/video for educational purposes.
