Abstract
Contamination of drinking water sources is one of the biggest threats to the welfare of the mankind. The present study aims to capture the impacts of industrial effluent discharges on the groundwater quality of an industrial area in Bangalore, India. The investigations reveal that there is considerable contamination of the groundwater in the study area due to the excessive concentrations of one or more water quality parameters such as nitrates, total hardness, calcium, iron, and fluorides, which have rendered nearly 37% of the water samples tested as nonpotable.
