Substitution reactions on alkaline earth metal iodides: A large anionic Sr 12 -aggregate [{Sr 6 (O)(μ 3 -I)(I) 2 (O t Bu) 7 (thf) 3 } 2 (μ-I)] –

Abstract

The structure of a new anionic mixed ligand Sr₁₂-cluster is presented. It consists of two oxocentered Sr₆-octahedra bridged via iodide along a Sr-I-Sr bond. The triangular faces are capped with one iodide and seven O^tBu-groups. Iodide and THF molecules are found as terminal ligands on the Sr-cations.
