Abstract
Reunification turns out to have a rather different price tag from the one west Germans thought worth paying for at the time. The hidden cost is now falling due and it's the 'Ossis' — east Germans — who are paying with post-dated credits. And for many, the 'disappearing' of their past is too heavy a price.
