Abstract
Lupenga Mphande was born in Malawi in 1947 and educated at the Universities of Malawi, Lancaster (Britain) and Texas (USA). He is currently Assistant Professor of African Languages and Literatures at the State University of Ohio at Columbus. He has had poetry published in Africa and abroad, and is also known as a dramatist.
