Abstract
The “Cochrane Corner” is a quarterly section in the journal that highlights systematic reviews relevant to otolaryngology– head and neck surgery, with invited commentary to aid clinical decision making. This installment features a Cochrane Review titled “Tonsillectomy for periodic fever, aphthous stomatitis, pharyngitis and cervical adenitis syndrome (PFAPA),” which suggests beneficial effects of surgery for up to 18 months, but also cautions that the risks of intervention must be balanced against a favorable natural history.
