This review examines women's risk perception of cervical cancer, the factors influencing this perception, and the relationship between risk perception of cervical cancer and screening behavior.
Integrative literature review method was used.
The search procedure resulted in the identification of 42 studies, including 1 literature review and 41 primary studies. Trends and discrepancies in the literature are presented with interpretations and recommendations.
Existing theories of health behavior appear inadequate for understanding screening behavior, and further studies are recommended to enrich the knowledge base of nursing diagnoses in knowledge deficit and health-seeking behavior.
Efforts would be made to improve nurses' understanding of risk perception of cervical cancer within specific cultural context.
To assess the reliability and validity of Quality of Diagnoses, Interventions, and Outcomes (Q-DIO) in Brazil and in the United States.
The sample comprised 180 records: centers 1 (electronic records and standardized language) and 2 (paper-based records without standardized language in Brazil, and center 3 (electronic records without standardized language) in the United States. Reliability and discriminant construct validity was analyzed.
Cronbach's alpha for all 29 Q-DIO items were greater than or equal to 0.70 for all centers; construct validity was significantly different between the three study centers.
These results indicate that Q-DIO is valid and reliable for assessing the quality of nursing records.
The Q-DIO may be useful to assess the quality and accuracy of nursing records.
This quantitative research study used a pretest/posttest design and reviewed how an educational electronic documentation system helped nursing students to identify the accurate “related to” statement of the nursing diagnosis for the patient in the case study.
Students in the sample population were senior nursing students in a bachelor of science nursing program in the northeastern United States. Two distinct groups were used for a control and intervention group. The intervention group used the educational electronic documentation system for three class assignments. Both groups were given a pretest and posttest case study. The Accuracy Tool was used to score the students' responses to the related to statement of a nursing diagnosis given at the end of the case study. The scores of the Accuracy Tool were analyzed, and then the numeric scores were placed in SPSS, and the paired
The recommendation to nursing education is to use the educational electronic documentation system as a teaching pedagogy to help nursing students prepare for nursing practice.
The purposes of this study were to (a) develop and implement a standardized nursing languages-based electronic nursing documentation system in Korea, and (b) explore nurses' experience with NANDA-I, Nursing Interventions Classification, and Nursing Outcomes Classification languages in relation to nursing workflow.
The system was developed by the research team and implemented in a tertiary hospital in Korea. Ten nurses used the system and interviews were conducted to explore nurses' experiences with the standardized nursing languages.
The most frequently used NANDA-I, Nursing Interventions Classification, and Nursing Outcomes Classification were identified. Nurses' experiences with standardized nursing languages and how they impact nursing workflow were analyzed.
Obtaining valid and comparable data from this system will be critical in improving patient safety, quality, and evidence-based practice.
The purpose of this study was to identify NANDA-I, Nursing Outcomes Classification (NOC), and Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC; NNN) linkages used by Korean nursing students during their clinical practice in medical-surgical units.
A comparative descriptive research design was used to measure the effects of nursing interventions from 153 nursing students in South Korea. Nursing students selected NNN using a Web-based nursing process documentation system. Data were analyzed by paired
Eighty-two NANDA-I diagnoses, 116 NOC outcomes, and 163 NIC interventions were identified. Statistically significant differences in patients' preintervention and postintervention outcome scores were observed.
By determining patient outcomes linked to interventions and how the degree of outcomes change after interventions, the effectiveness of the interventions can be evaluated.
