Scars, Burns & Healing is a peer reviewed journal, which focuses on scar and burns research, with the breadth of science and medicine related to healing. Research in diverse fields from tissue engineering to genetics is increasingly brought to bear on scar and burns research improving our understanding and paving the way for better treatments. Effective January 1, 2026, Scars, Burns & Healing will transition from a fully Open Access model to a hybrid publishing model. While select articles will continue to be published Open Access, the majority of content will be available through institutional or individual subscriptions.
