Abstract
In transient stability (TS) studies, current injection models are widely used to present electrical power system elements. Such modelling causes divergence problems in some cases. This paper presents a new current injection model to solve this problem. This new approach could be incorporated into a power system analysis course at either undergraduate or postgraduate level to expand students' understanding of problems that may arise in TS studies. Finally, simulation results of a power system obtained by the proposed model are compared to those obtained by Simulink to show the effectiveness of the new approach.
