An augmented open-circuit test is described for the determination of equivalent-circuit parameters for single-phase transformers. Using the test results, phasor diagrams are drawn and, from these, formulas for the equivalent-circuit parameters are found. The treatment presented is applicable even for transformers with large values of series-branch impedances in the equivalent circuit.
