Abstract
This paper presents a dynamic analysis of the short-term voltage stability problem. The effects of different reactive control alternatives and load shedding used to avoid voltage collapse are studied. The effects of time-length disturbances and switching time of reactive power compensation are also analysed. In order to facilitate an understanding of the concepts associated with these phenomena an analysis of a simple test system is performed from a didactical point of view using Simulink.
