When analysing electrodynamometer type wattmeters, the common assumption that potential coil current is linearly proportional to load voltage is only true for one of two alternative methods of connecting its current and potential coils. The present analysis avoids this. It also develops a single expression for the correction factor which includes connection and phase angle errors.
